NEW YORK — Dandy Dillinger was crowned Miss Art Deco by the Art Deco Society of New York and Wit’s End at the Knickerbocker Hotel on January 30. Dandy represents Wit’s End, the monthly speakeasy party held at St. Cloud, on the rooftop of the landmark 1906 hotel.Dandy was crowned by Meghan Weatherby, the society’s director of operations, and Kita St. Cyr, Wit’s End host. Dandy is a performer, baker, and model.
“I love being Miss Art Deco because I enjoy being a part of something so historic and beautiful,” Dandy said. “I’m happy to work on collaborations between the vintage scenes in New York City and in turn learn more about the era. Also, there’s the beautiful crown!”
The ADSNY is a non-profit organization for the study, preservation, and celebration of all forms of Art Deco. It brings together Art Deco enthusiasts with a variety of interests. Wit’s End is New York’s longest-running monthly vintage party, held the last Saturday night of the month, January through October, at St. Cloud. Wit’s End parties always feature live vintage hot jazz bands, swing dancing with free dance lessons, and delicious classic cocktails. All guests observe a strict dress code of vintage and vintage-inspired clothes.
