Photos From February: Dandy, Dandy, and the Snake

Our party on Feb. 27 at the Knickerbocker Hotel, on the rooftop St. Cloud lounge, was the second-biggest party in the 7 year history of Wit’s End. It was also our Seventh Anniversary party, headlined by Dandy Wellington. There was a second Dandy in the house: Dandy Dillinger, Miss Art Deco herself. Our two special performers were Zoe Ziegfeld with her boa, Fantasia, and the tap-dancing star Gin Minsky. We also celebrated the birthdays of DJ Mike Will Cut You and Jeri Lynn. Our next party is March 26, with the Buck and a Quarter Quartet performing. Get tickets here.

Photos From January Debut at Knickerbocker Hotel

Wit’s End had a fantastic debut at St. Cloud at the Knickerbocker Hotel on January 30, 2016. Michael Arenella performed a sublime show of authentic jazz. We saw the crowning of Miss Art Deco, Dandy Dillinger. We raffled off a dinner at Charlie Palmer at the Knick. The rooftop was open for the cigar lounge. Our professional dance instructors, Jeri and Neal, wowed the crowd. And we saw the return of our hostess, Kita St. Cyr, after too-long absence. Thanks to our sponsor, Barrow’s Intense Ginger Liqueur. And where would we be without the Dorothy Parker Society? It was an incredible debut party at St. Cloud. Enjoy the photos by Jane Kratochvil, and we’ll see you on Feb. 27 for Dandy Wellington and His Band.

Super Turnout for Annual Vintage Train Ride

The MTA did not disappoint this year, and neither did fans of vintage clothes and old trains. We had a super turnout at the Vintage Holiday Train Ride. The MTA rolled out their classic subway cars, and hundreds turned out in their vintage best. We met on the Second Avenue platform for another super event.

Among the bands we saw, which have played at Wit’s End parties in the past, were the Grand Street Stompers, Glenn Crytzer and the Pegu Club All-Stars, and Myriam Phiro. Some of the fantastic musicians that made the scene that have been part of many Wit’s End nights were Gordon Au, Mike Davis, and Nick Russo. A tip of the cap to the organizers and band-wrangler, Amy Winn.

January 2013 Party Photos

We were so wrecked from the January party with the Hot Sardines and Kita St. Cyr, it took us awhile to get the photos together! What a party! We hope to repeat the good times on Saturday, Feb. 23, with Dandy Wellington!
